The CAUSES+EFFECTS of DRESSES+SHOES!

This was a unique & interesting cause+effect ad campaign created by Y&R Dubai for Spring/Summer '09 for retail store HARVEY NICHOLS.
This campaign made up of fire extinguishers, stop signs, dogs, cats, fender benders, jelly, rockets, birds & tunnels recieved the INTERNATIONAL ANDY AWARDS 2010 for Retail in the "Out Of Home" category.
The campaign aims to convey to Harvey Nichols shoppers that its items can have overwhelming results. Each ad carries one of the retail items along with a number of images of one specific theme, which act as a visual metaphor for the cause+effect the item can have.
I don't quite understand the combination between animals & vehicles to dresses & shoes.
But kudos to them for creativity & an award-winning campaign.
Now, if i saw these ads while shopping, I would think:
Oww! This dress is so hot, it's on fire. Someone get the FIRE EXTINGUISHER!
These shoes are show-STOP-pers!
DOGS & men would wanna hump your leg if you wore this dress!
CATS love shiny, new things. It makes them Prrrrr! & Meow!
Seeing a woman on the street in this dress may cause plenty of FENDER BENDERS.
Eating all this JELLY will cause you to blow up & only fit in dresses like these. Ew!
He'll get a ROCKET in his POCKET if he sees you in this dress!
Blastofffff ;D
Check out the rest HERE.
XOXO

if you like half naked females and creative advertising ..... Merry Christmas

** by now if your at work you should have already closed this based on the title but since you haven't i'll give you my advice and then you can do whatever you want.. your job.. your life.. right? between you an me you might want to bookmark this post and check it out when you get home.. because this video although revolutionary and unique from and advertising perspective probably isn't worth you loosing your job. ** I guess I could have made the title for this post "only for the grown and sexy" but I kinda wanted to give the people at work a heads up... anyway on to the main event. --I think it's only fair that I share the background I got prior to seeing this for the first time; then give you the chance to see it for yourself... after if you feel so inclined, you can tell me what you think.. (or not) ....that's usually how this bloggin thing goes anyway. without further ado an e-mail sent to me from a female co-worker.... title:Don't Judge Me body: Fleggaard Holding is based in Krusaa, Denmark. Just across Germany's northern-most border with Denmark you'll find an incredible superstore called Fleggaard. There, you can buy everything you need - tubs of gummi bears, cases of wine, industrial strength dishwashing soap - at prices 30% cheaper than you'll find in Denmark. It is Denmark's Costco, packaged as a German loophole. Here is the link to one of the best advertisements ever made Click Here Andy twitter.com/whatnowandy

Disposable Jeans

When I heard the term "denim diapers" I though it was a revolutionary new jean for the elderly but it's quite the opposite.. it's actually the latest fashion driven creation from Huggies.. Huggies’ new limited-edition denim diapers, set to go on sale in Canada in June from an ad perspective: .. cute & funny - the winning combo when advertising to parents.. from a product perspective: ..granted not all parents are willing to pay a premium for these disposable jeans.. but in this fashion first world I wouldn't be surprised if these do well from a fashion perspective: im mad cuz he's stylin on me : ( Andy.

Oh Flash Mob how I luv thee..

H&M in San Fran used the ol' flash mob strategy to kick-off it's 2010 Spring/Summer kids line.. And although "flash mobbing/ ambush marketing" is an old strategy that's been used + abused for decades it's still one of my favourite grass root strategies for the simple fact that it demands your attention… See what I mean… you watched the whole thing… Why brands still use flash mobs: A: It really goes back to the "if it's not broken…" mentality .. Since the beginning of time flash mobs have been fun(for everyone) and extremely inexpensive not to mention when done correctly can do a great job of getting the brand message across to the consumer. With the internet and social media now playing Robin to "flash mob's" Batman I have a feeling these unannounced "random" events will be popping up a lot more often... -Andy

pepsi helps you help yourself (& your community)

In the last 3 months a ton of big brands have stepped up to the social media plate but none more so then Pepsi. In todays constantly connected society the battle of the beverage brands wont be won or lost with TV and Radio ads but with social media. The standard twitter account or facebook fan page to increase brand impressions or keep your brand top of mind has quickly become "passé" and has made way for new creative social media campaigns like The Pepsi Refresh Project. A straight forward campaign where Pepsi foots the bill for your brilliant ideas to help "refresh" your community. How you get paid?: Upload your idea & project profile to refresheverything.com, then gather as many votes as you can by promoting your project within your online community. Ideas/projects with the most votes at the end of every month receive "refresh grants" to fund their project (grants range from 5k - 250k) You might wonder what Pepsi gets out of all of this? A: Your attention + thousands of positive brand impressions daily.. which is gold for any big brand that does business in a competitive industry like food & beverage.. A big pat on the back to Pepsi for this one.. -Andy

lesson #1 in marketing: dont' cut corners on creative thinking
