Merry Christmas

My family and I have been celebrating Christmas since I can remember. The big bright decorated Christmas tree, the shake to guess what it is gifts, the guaranteed to give you itis dinner and just a whole lot of love. It seems as the time went by and *ahem* we got older, we became a tad bit busier, Christmas is just not what it used to be, we don't even make an attempt to buy a tree anymore we're just like meh fuk it and we get each other gifts and even skip the dinner.
Don't get me wrong, the love is there and when we call for one another we are there for each other but holidays are not the same anymore, it really breaks my heart. I don't know maybe it's all the Christmas movies that I have been watching recently that got me feeling jelli of the big ass table with one and all around it and kids asking their parents if they can open at least ONE present before Christmas morning. For some reason it seems to me as Christmas now is just about going out and spending money, getting yourself into debt and it's just being celebrated the wrong way. I don’t mean to sound like a Grinch but I miss my back in the day Christmas memories.

Do you celebrate your Christmas like how I see in the movies????

can't even lie! as someone that LOVES and CHERISHES Christ vehemently, it breaks my heart to see the commercialization of Christmas. Just remember Jesus is the reason for the season! U don't need Christmas trees and gifts to celebrate HIS bday!!! GOD BLESS NEB!

I agree that christians should try not to forget about the reason for the season is HIM but at the same time for all of the people who arent, it should be about love and family and just spending time together. I LOVE christmas. It's my favourite time of the year. My mom's food, my dad's jokes, sitting around our electronic fire place lol. Especially now that i dont live at home anymore it's one of the few times i get to sleep in my old purple bedroom from high school with old pics etc. I dunno i just get all warm and fuzzy this time of yr. even with ppl i usually cant stand. lol

It's sad but it's true....I used to watch all the cartoon christmas movies they had on TV, play in the snow with friends while talkin about what we THOUGHT we got, sneaking up to the closet to try and peak on the get caught and get cussed....

Shit aint the same. Omar's right tho we're not trying hard enough...I took it upon myself to spread joy to my family by putting in effort...I got a Santa hat, my bottle of frangelico, and some bomb ass christmas music ....

THIS YEAR, MI READY!

My family is muslim but growing up we celebrated xmas & eid. Eid is a huge deal in my family (my mom would go all out : eid clothes , gifts food & family etc... ) but my mom still did the whole xmas thing for non religious purposes no xmas tree tho just gifts & good food.
