the "let me hold on to a dollar" tree.
I have big problem with people telling me things I can't do..
who says money can't grow on trees? - Money can grow on trees... and it will once we figure out how to replicate this in every corner of the globe..
...did I ever mention how much I love social experiments?

the dollars and cents behind social media
there's no doubt that technology & social media have both played critical roles in providing relief and support in Haiti -- the convince of sending financial aid via txt msg'n or other social media outlets allows us to start making donations hours after a crisis happens.
do you think any new artist today would be popular without social media?.. maybe a few but a lot of them would not be making much more then pocket change if it wasn't for social media ...
i dug up this video called socialnomics & wanted to share just how real this social media thing is...check it out
lets look a real life test case Soulja boy - he's a product of social media without it he might make a lil noise in his home town but probably would never get heard on a global level. To be honest 25% of Soulja boys annual profits should go back to Google (you tube) for putting him on..
andy, without social media im not here writing this and your not there reading this..

Over the weekend I was surprised with a trip to one of Canada's largest Wine communities - Niagara on the Lake. Not only did i get the chance to sample some of the best wine Canada has to offer; for 22$ I was able to take 2 tours.. one of which that took me down in the trenches to learn first hand about the vines, barrels & bottling.. the second that took me to the dinning table to learn about wine and food pairing.. both tours were awesome well worth the price of admission -- I was introduced to ice wine for the first time- (which if you havent had it before will probably blow your mind... cuz its tastes so good..) if your interested in wine and havent made it out to a winery I would highly recommend it..even if your not into learning about the wine making process --its always cool to get a grip of free samples.. check out this collection of photos from Canada's wine country (click on the photo to get the full picture)

Nebby/Kenza/Andy, what's the word? I just stumbled on onto your blog and you guys have some crazy stuff on there - and I also see that your style game is correct. With that in mind, I'm working on a swap meet called reFresh for Less - it's going down on Sunday Sept 13. (See attached flyers.)
Hope that you'll come out, maybe even as vendor! I'd also like to request that you post our event on your blog, if you feel that the vibe fits.
Hit me up sometime,
Craig Cal

Great designs come from open minds and tight budgets..
Im no expert in interior decoration or design, and im well aware that Ikea isn’t always the best option for quality furniture but every year I end up pick up one of these:
Check out the New Ikea 2010 Catalogue (US) (Canada) – although I have zéro background in furniture or interior decorating it’s always interesting to see what kinda room combo’s they come up with..
Andy, certified amateur interior decorator at your service..

new school vending machine
Best Buy just switched it up -- Were all familiar with going to the vending machine to grab a bag of chips.... but going to the vending machine to grab an ipod?.. BestBuy express machines have been popping up at airport terminals across the US (not familiar with BestBuy express i wasn't either - it's basically just a big technology vending machine). It's a great idea (I could see myself using something like this if i forgot my BlackBerry charger or something along those lines) im just not sure consumers are ready to make big purchase decisions at a vending machine..
had a chance to check this out on way home from florida...

Nike and Lance Armstrong unite to Mobilize the World in the Fight Against Cancer Nike today announced the launch of an integrated media and grassroots campaign featuring Lance Armstrong, world-class athletes, celebrities and survivors, in a call-to-action to join the global fight against cancer.
The campaign, Its About You, includes a TV commercial and a collection of digital short films featuring inspirational cancer stories, new social networking elements to help ignite a groundswell of support to fight cancer, and dozens of LIVESTRONG city and sporting event moments across the United States and in France.
Its About You features a television spot entitled Driven, featuring Lance Armstrong and cancer survivors, that debuts in the U.S. on Sunday night, June 28th. A 30- and 60-second spot will run on ABC, CBS, Comedy Central, ESPN, FOX, MTV, NBC, and Versus throughout the Tour de France. In conjunction Nike is also releasing a collection of digital short films featuring the stories of cancer survivors and those who have been touched by someone living with cancer.
Its About You will also come to life in major markets via LIVESTRONG Chalking events in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago, and along the Tour de France course. Alexander Wang for GAP
This is what i hate about living in Canada sometimes! I just found out that Alexander wang will debut his Gap collection in stores on June 16th! The collection will focus on khaki (I LOVE) all under $100!!! (HOLLAAAAA) I just got off the phone with the Gap store on Queen St. the lady had 0 idea what i was talking about and said "...it might be just in the states) GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I usually just walk by it because it looks like such a boring store to me but I'm going to have to actually go into the Gap on the 16th to find out wot di hell agwan. Worse comes to worst i will have one of my boos go into the Gap in Boston and she will mail me the goods to this foreign country where we gotta be a step behind everyone (no offense Canadian but I'm a tad bit heated about this). Ok I'm over it! now go get ur Alexander Wang pieces :(
Signin off,
Neb
UPDATE: @wonTONfm@NebbyNeb RT @geekigirl: Gap CFDA - June 16, the collection will be in Canada in Toronto (Eaton Centre, 60 Bloor St. W. and Yorkdale)

just a big kid.
killed sometime on my lunch break with a few co-workers at the Mastermind warehouse sale (Mastermind is just a kids Toy store in Canada)- my co-workers all have kids so they took full advantage of the low prices and did all their christmas, birthday, hanukkah and good report card shopping.. i dont' have any kids to shop for so I ended up taking photo's from my phone...
..lately it feels like everywhere I turn everything's on sale.. the truth is no one is spared from the wrath of a poor economy. When the buying slows many retailers become overstocked with product(s), supply then eclipses demand. Naturally prices will drop in attempt to encourage sell through and balance the scales. It's truly a buyers Paradise if you can afford to spend... anyway on to a lighter subject these photo's..
